WhoWeUse is a list of service providers kept by neighbors, for neighbors. It is not a business. Nobody pays to be listed, nothing is sold, there are no ads, and no commission is taken on any job. It is invite-only: you are here because a neighbor asked you in.

These are opinions, not vetting

Every rating and comment is one neighbor's own experience. Nobody has checked licences, insurance, bonding or background. A thumbs up is not a guarantee, and the absence of one means nothing. Do your own checks before you hire anyone, exactly as you would with any recommendation passed across a fence.

Whoever runs this list is not a party to your dealings with a provider and is not responsible for the work, the price, the outcome, or anything that follows from it.

What to post

• Only add someone you have actually used.
• Write what happened. Specific beats sweeping: “arrived late twice” is fair, “they are crooks” is not.
• Say what you know first-hand. Passing on rumours about a business can be defamatory, and it is not useful anyway.
• No private information about anyone: no home addresses, no personal phone numbers except a business's own published number.
• No advertising. If you are the provider, do not rate yourself or ask neighbors to. Rate and comment about people you hired, not yourself.
• Be kind. The business owner may live on your street.

Your words stay yours

You keep ownership of everything you write. By posting, you give this list permission to show it to other signed-in members of your community, with your name attached. That permission is all you grant: your words are not sold, licensed on, syndicated or published anywhere else. Remove your comment at any time, and it is gone.

If you are a provider listed here

You are welcome to respond. Ask a member to add your reply as a comment, or get in touch and it will be added. If something written about you is factually wrong, say so and it will be removed or corrected. You may also ask to be taken off the list entirely, and that will be honoured.

Moderation

Comments can be removed by their author, or by whoever runs the list. Accounts that break these rules can be removed, and invite links can be revoked. There is no appeals process — this is a neighborhood list, not a court.

No promises about the service

This is run by a neighbor, at their own expense, in their spare time. It may be unavailable, change, or stop entirely. Ask for a copy of your own contributions at any time.
